Chapter 24

This was a photo taken before it all fell apart. Covid ruined many small business owners. I had to sit for days with a blank canvas feeling. I did it. I grew. I sold cars to pay for my staff's entitlements. I never gave up on my nextmove and knowing there was something deep in me brewing. I had to work more on myself. I had to invest what I could on myself. I went from $0 to over 1.4 million since that date. The book will be called chapter 24. Today here are my insights. If we meet I hope to coach these insights and share my personal stories with the intention of YOU being the person that gets to receive.
Insight 1: safe performance system + human feelings = safe performance culture
Insight 2: feeling is the only goal
Insight 3: take time to pause as a leader
Insight 4. success is not defined by what you achieve it’s how you receive it
Insight 5: it’s safe to pivot! But it’s not safe that when you pivot you don’t meet everyone where they are at
Insight 6: to receive fulfilment as a business owner is when you realise t’s actually not about YOU!
Insight 7: Nobody actually knows what there goal is.
Insight 8: the how bucket turns good to great!
Insight 9: every ceo should travel to do their PD training
Insight 10: the people you serve are not the ones that need you most!
I think this is the one that gets me out of bed each day.
Insight 11: write every morning!
Insight 12: bring back photo albums and video stores in context of maintaining presence
Insight 13: The gold dust stuff or magic occurs when you pay close to attention - actively listen - and stop chasing
Insight 14: focus on input when you lead others and when you do choose output keep all feedback in the possibility space not the problem space
Insight 15: there is an unwritten story and not yet story. Important to be a visionary and poet and connect to what you write down but it’s equally important to GSD
Insight 16- in private coaching or healthcare say No to the quick fix people
Insight 17- as above most people want to belong to something - it’s less about their problem today and more about how you can look after them for the long term
Insight 18 - if you worry about how much you charge you are not in alignment with the trust model of human connection
Insight 19- the more you know and learn makes you realise an understanding of how little you know
Insight 20- you can do a massive amount with very little to have an impact on someone’s life
Insight 21: it’s really cool to write but some of the best movements come from unplanned, unwritten and live thoughts on what you really feel you need to get done!
Insight 22- mic up and just talk. Don’t worry about posts being perfect. Some of the biggest social media interactions I’ve had are from just being raw and authentic
Insight 23- don’t assume as a leader - clarity is king! Ensure people behave based on the values you have set and only use these values as a template for have constructive conversations.
Insight 24- look up and look down on leadership
There is leadership everywhere. We often get taught by people younger or less experienced.
